Post 11 - Final costume and make-up

Amy -

This is what I will have her wear. I will have her very dressed up to fit the script 'am I too dressed up'. This will also mean she stands out in the dark-ish room. The bright colours will allow her to be scene. The short, tight dress indicates her age being young which suggests the dating scene may be new to her. I am keeping it simple in order for the focus not to be on what she is wearing. Her dressing up also shows she wants to impress her date and look good for him. I believe this doesn't fit with the typical outfit you would wear to a cinema but that's why I have picked it, I want her to stand out and be picked easily by the audience.

Amy will be wearing makeup to match her dressed up appearance. It will be natural and not bold but she will have makeup to to fit the look of her trying to impress. Powder will be worn so her face is not shiny in reflection from the lighting.

The extras in the background -

Sitting down in the cinema chairs they will all be in casual jeans and a top. This will bring all the attention to Amy my main character. This will show they are all not there to impress anyone as the cinema is not a typical place u would get dressed up like Amy is.

Post 12 - Final props

Props are not really needed in my film as I am trying to limit any focus taken off the character expressions /monolog. I want the film to be as realistic as possible and naturalistic so any props used will be very common and everyday use products.

I will have my main character hold a phone. Any phone will do as long as the screen is big enough for the camera to pick up the texts. She will also get out of her bag a little mirror and lipstick. This will show she cares about her appearance and is looking to impress her date. These props also help drive the narrative as I can base some of the voice overs on them. It will also give the viewer a insight to the type of girl she is. I will also have my main character be holding a tub of popcorn that I will purchase from amazon then fill with popcorn from a supermarket. This will emphasis the setting of a cinema. And fit with the conventions of the setting.

Post 10 - Final casting and characters

 List of characters:

Main character - 'Amy' - 18/19/20 year old girl. A girl that appears confident but really she is a nervous wreck. She overthinks and worries but is exited to find her first boyfriend. This is a picture of the girl I am auditioning. Her name is Lily, she's 18. I believe she will be good for my main role as she fits the look and has experience behind a camera from her GCSE she took in drama.

This is a video she sent me as her audition. I asked her to briefly talk about herself and her experience in acting. What was important about the audition for me was to see her naturally thrive in front of the camera.

Another protagonist in my film is the boy Amy is waiting to go on a date with. I have decided to call him 'Harry'. I want my actor that plays Harry to look 19/20/21. Still young so it fits with him and Amy going on a date. Again I need him to be confident however, it does not matter as much. The character is not on screen until the last couple of scenes. This is a picture of the person I would like to play Harry. His name is Alex. He is 19, I believe he fits the character because he looks kind and friendly however he doesn't treat Amy great.

This is a video he sent me auditioning. Again I just wanted to ensure he wouldn't crumble when it comes to being in the film.
